We help people with mental health issues through two of our schemes.
- The Amity Project is for people with mental health support needs, living in the community.
- Young Diverse Minds is for people with mental health support needs of African, Caribbean, Asian and dual heritage descent.
Amity Project
Promoting good mental health and well being
Amity is a project for people with mental health needs, aged 16 plus, in Nottinghamshire.
Based in Sherwood, Nottingham, it provides a safe and secure environment where we deliver a wide range of activities as well as a newly introduced outreach service,surpporting people in there own homes and in the community.
Open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Wednesday, for group activitiesand support.
Open from 9am to 5pm, Thurday to Friday delivering outreach services.
Offering support with:
- Giving you someone to talk to
- Managing stress and depression
- Building your confidence
- Promoting and facilitating good relationships
- Developing and promoting good communication skills
- Accessing complementary therapies
- Developing independant living
- Managing your budget
- Accessing benefits
- Developing your IT skills
- Access to training and employment
A lively programme of social and recreational activities includes:
- Art group
- Music group
- Gardening
- Relaxation
- Walking
- Dropin facilities
- Complimentary therapy
Group work is complemented by one to one support sessions; keyworkers are always on hand to offer support to those experiencing difficulties.
We have strong links with other local agencies, including those which deliver mental health support.
You can refer yourself to Amity or be referred by a friend, a relative or a health professional.
We are on the main bus route, next to Woodthorpe Park and close to Sherwood shopping centre.

Young Diverse Minds
Supporting young people from African Carribean and South Asian communities with mental health support needs
Young Diverse Minds supports people aged 16-30-years-old from African, Caribbean, Asian or dual heritage cultures within Nottingham, who have mental health support needs.
Although Young Diverse Minds is based at The Croft, Albert Road, Nottingham, NG3 4JD it is an assertive outreach service, which means we work with you at a location to suit you – so you don’t have to travel if you prefer not to.
We are open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, and provide a range of activities.
So that we can provide a really supportive service, our experienced staff are from similar ethnic backgrounds to our customers.
Young Diverse Minds can help you:
- One to one support
- Weekly dropin facility
- Build your confidence
- Make new friends
- Manage stress
- Talk things through
- Try complementary therapies
- Gender group work
We have established links with providers within the local area, including those who deliver mental health support. The group work compliments essenial individulised one to one support. Key workers are always on hand to offer support to those experiencing difficulties.
